* For any reason, if you have to stick to Java 6 or Java 7, you can use ThreeTen-Backport which backports most of the java.time functionality to Java 6 & 7. If you are working for an Android project and your Android API level is still not compliant with Java-8, check Java 8+ APIs available through desugaring and How to use ThreeTenABP in 365 + 1/4 − 1/100 + 1/400 = 365.2425 days per year. This means that we, in average, have 31556952000 milliseconds per year. The long-value represents the number of milliseconds since the Epoch (1st of January, 1970) and the maximum number represented by a Java long is 2 63 − 1, so the following calculation. 1970 + (2 63 − 1) / 31556952000. Output: Current Date is: Wed Jan 08 20:30:26 IST 2014 Current Day is:: 8 Current Month is:: 1 Current Year is: 2014 Current Day of Week is: 4 Current Day of Month is: 8 Current Day of Year is: 8. In the above example we have fetched the data of local timezone (note: we have used TimeZone.getDefault () in the first statement of the program. "You are 19 years, 4 months, 12 days, 8 hours, 44 minutes, and 39 seconds old." I'm just a little confused on how I would subtract a date from another date, and how I would reference each part (years, months, days, hours, etc) separately. The code I have at the moment for reference:
My answer assumes you agree it's best to put the year first, in year-month-date order for chronological sorting alphabetically. If not, twiddle with the format codes for your way. Using the third-party library Joda-Time 2.3 rather than the notoriously bad java.util.Date/Calendar classes.
Using this code (week starts on Sunday, and 2 days are required to be considered the first week - otherwise week will be zero as in the first example above): LocalDate d = getDate (1, 6, 7, 2017); d will be 2017-07-08 (Saturday in the week 1 of July 2017).
