Nusa Lembongan is a truly beautiful island and has so much to offer any visitor. It's definitely worth a couple of days of your next Bali holiday. Who knows, you might enjoy the island vibe so much that you end up staying a few days longer.

Two other laidback regions worth considering are Padangbai, on the east coast; and Nusa Lembongan, an adorable (almost) traffic-free island, 30 minutes by boat from Sanur. With 15 days, you should consider staying in three places: perhaps, Lovina, Sanur or Jimbaran, and somewhere else like Nusa Lembongan.

IMO it depends on how much time you have. Traveling to/from gili islands can take up to a day. Trip over to Lembongan or Penida is a quick boat ride from Sanur.
You can take the speed boat from Sanur, on the east side of Bali, and the boat ride will take about 45 minutes. Another way is to travel to Nusa Lembongan first if you're staying on that island and have a day trip to Nusa Penida. Go to the boats right next to the yellow bridge to get a speed boat to Nusa Penida. This will only take you 10
Summer can be a good time to visit Nusa Lembongan if you don't mind a little rain and have patience. Road conditions can deteriorate in heavy rain and the ferries from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan can be canceled if there's a large storm.
